چکیده
Laser alloying is an effective method to form functional surface layers (coatings) on metallic materials, particularly stainless steels. Unique phase balance, dislocation substructure, and a possibility obtain gradient microstructures after laser slow down the degradation increase wear resistance. In this work, optimal parameters of their effects microstructure properties were investigated for two steels: ferritic AISI 420 austenitic 304. Three types plasters used: 85Nb + 15 graphite, liquid glass, 15Fe 30Ni 20B 10Si 25 glass (wt.%). The power density 0.3 × 105 W/cm2 beam scanning speed 1990 mm/min found generate 220–320 ?m thick coatings with complex microstructures. Phase balance in was studied X-ray diffraction magnetometric analyses. High microhardness (up 16 GPa) resistance associated formation martensite some retained austenite Nb-, Cr-, Si-, B-rich particles layer steel, high strengthened Ti-, Si-rich 304 steel.

In this STIR we proposed to investigate the microstructure and alloy composition on the formation and stability of nanotwinned microstructures. The long-term alloy design strategy focuses on microalloying additions to 1) reduce the stacking fault energy (SFE), enhance twinning formation, and increase twin volume fraction; 2) reduce the twin size via increasing interstitial content while also ta...

15 صفحه اولY Studies on Austenitic Stainless Steels
Abstract--In this investigation, the fracture surfaces of SS 304 and SS 316 austenitic steels were analysed using the X-ray fractography technique. In both cases, a decrease in the austenite content was observed at the fracture surface as a result of deformation induced martensite, indicating a linear relation with Km~ within the stable crack growth region. The presence of this martensite was f...
